The objective was to tell the story of Villa Santa Maria, a hydroelectric power plant dating back to 1959, located in the heart of the mountains of Montelapiano and fed by the waters of Lake Barrea.
Part of Enel’s “Stories from the Present” project, the work focused on revealing a complex infrastructure that is almost invisible from the outside, while highlighting its connection with the surrounding landscape and territory.
Through photography and video, the storytelling brought together the scale of the plant, the natural environment and the people behind its operation, exploring how established energy infrastructure continues to evolve through digitalization, automation and innovation.
